Today, CMHA Sault Ste. Marie joins individuals and organizations across the country in celebrating Caregiver Day.
Caregiver Day is intended to honour caregivers — the millions of parents, children, siblings, spouses and friends who provide unpaid care to support someone with a diminishing physical ability, a debilitating cognitive condition or a chronic life-limiting illness.
Caregivers often feel isolated. In the wake of COVID-19, Canadians are facing a new reality of social distancing, self-quarantining and isolation in order to protect public health and safety. In what may be a difficult time for many, CMHA Sault Ste. Marie is offering some basic tips to help people remain calm and balanced as this public health situation unfolds: https://ssm-algoma.cmha.ca/news/tips-to-manage-mental-health-during-covid-19/
CMHA Ontario and branches around the province also provide programs and services to support mental wellness, such as BounceBack, counselling, information on stress management, and much more.
